Savor your life by doing ‘nothing’.

Modern-day stimuli such as texting, social media, and fast-paced work keep us all in a state of distraction and anxiety, and may subtly arouse our envy of others. For the sake of your personal survival and mental health, try redirecting your attention to the wonders of your immediate environment, i.e., the natural world, and give yourself permission to slow d-o-w-n.  To achieve this, must you book a mindfulness-retreat on a tropical island?  No, according to author Jenny Odell, who–in her book “How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy”–reminds us that attention is our most precious resource.
